Abstract

PROCEDIMENTO E APARELHO PARA A CONCENTRAÇçO POR FLOTAÇçO DE MATERIAIS HIDROFàBICOS. A presente invenção refere-se a um procedimento e aparelho para a concentração de materiais hidrofílicos através de flotação que consiste em dois dispositivos operando em série, O primeiro dispositivo executa a função de alimentar o gás e a polpa, gerar bolhas e produzir contato com as partículas hidrofóbicas a serem concentradas. O segundo dispositivo executa as funções de separar e evacuar a espuma carregando os materiais hidrofóbicos e a evacuação da polpa aquosa com materiais com afinidade com água. O dispositivo de misturar gás-polpa contém dentro dele dispositivos de mistura de sólido, preferivelmente contas conformadas e de uma densidade menor do que aquela da polpa a ser processada. A geração de bolhas e seu contato com materiais hidrofóbicos acontecem quando o gás e a polpa transitam através de interstícios dentre o meio de mistura que tem liberdade discreta para se mover no interior. A separação das espumas ocorre em um tanque sem sistemas de agitação motorizada cujo volume pode permitir a os tempos de residência da polpa dentro de uma faixa de 20 a 60 minutos. Esse tanque tem na sua seção superior arestas de transbordamento e calhas de coleta de espuma. A descarga dos resíduos é efetuada através de uma ou mais tubulações que saem na seção inferior do fundo inclinado e cujo fluxo é controlado por válvulas. A seletividade da concentração é controlada através de alteração da profundidade em que o fazedor de bolhas descarrega no tanque separador de espuma.
