Abstract

MéTODO PARA CARREGAR UM BASTãO DE TINTA, APARELHO EM UMA IMPRESSORA DE TINTA E BASTãO DE TINTA. A presente invenção refere-se a uma impressora de jato de tinta (10) que inclui um sistema de suprimento de tinta (29) e uma cabeça impressora com bocais para ejetar gotas de tinta (44). A impressora (10) determina o tamanho médio das gotas de tinta ejetadas pela comparação do número de gotas de tinta ejetadas em um tempo predeterminado com a quantidade de tinta fornecida através do sistema de suprimento de tinta (29) da impressora (10) durante aquele tempo. Se o tamanho de gota de tinta médio determinado não coincidir com o critério de tamanho de gota de tinta predeterminado, a impressora (10) ajusta os sinais de ativação para os bocais de jato de tinta para alterar o tamanho de gota de tinta. Uma impressora de tinta sólida (10) determina a quantidade de tinta fornecida através do sistema de suprimento de tinta (29) pela contagem do número de bastões de tinta inteiros ou parciais que passam por um ponto predeterminado no sistema de suprimento de tinta (29). O contador detecta um elemento de detecção formado sobre uma superfície externa do bastão de tinta. Os detectores exemplares incluem um braço mecânico ou um termistor (210, 222) para detectar uma mudança na temperatura da placa de fusão da impressora (32A, 32B, 32C, 32D) devido a uma mudança na área de seção transversal de um bastão de tinta (30) que está sendo fundido.
