Abstract
BACTERIóFAGOS COMO AGENTES SELETIVOS. As composições que contêm bacterlófagos e os métodos para usar bacteriáfagos em ensaios de detecção de microorganismos e crescimento microbiano e meios de plaqueamento são descritos. A capacidade lítica desses fagos para controlar o crescimento de populações não-alvo fornece sensibilidade e especificidade superiores a ensaios de detecção e reduz resultados positivos falsos e negativos falsos. A retirada de bactérias contaminantes reduz a competição microbiana por nutrientes nos meios de crescimento, por meio disso, aumentando a eficiência e a produtividade da cultura. O tratamento de fago da amostra aumenta a proporção de microorganismos alvo na amostra sobre bactérias contaminantes que por meio disso necessitam que menos tempo de enriquecimento para obter um sinal significante que melhore o sinal total para a proporção de interferência em ensaios e provendo mais alto rendimento do produto final em sistemas de produção microbiológica.
