Abstract

CORREçãO DE ERROS ANTECIPADA E ADAPTATIVA. Descrevem-se aparelhos e métodos para correção antecipada de erros (FEC) adaptativa, um exemplo de uso sendo para transmissão contínua de vídeo por uma rede sem fio. O aparelho inclui um codificador FEC (210) e um dispositivo FEC adaptativa (240) . O codificador FEC (210) serve para codificar k pacotes de dados de origem em n pacotes, onde n > k, e os n pacotes incluem pacotes redundantes. O dispositivo FEC adaptativa (240) serve para determinar adaptativamente um número de pacotes redundantes a ser transmitido com os k pacotes codificados, com base na recepção de uma ou mais mensagens de realimentação. A uma ou mais mensagens de realimentação indicam uma condição da rede sem fio por meio da qual o vídeo codificado será transmitido.
