Abstract

"APARELHO PARA GERAR UM FLUXO DE BIT ATSC 8-VSB, SISTEMA DIGITAL ATSC 8-VSB, MéTODO PARA GERAR UM FLUXO DE BIT ATSC 8-VSB, E, SINAL". é descrito um aparelho e método para gerar fluxos de bit ATSC 8-VSB robusto para transmissão por um transmissor digital. O aparelho compreende uma unidade de codificador Reed-Solomon que codifica diversos fluxos de bit incluindo bits a serem codificados em um fluxo de bit ATSC 8-VSB robusto e bits a serem codificados em um fluxo de bit ATSC 8-VSB padrão. O aparelho compreende também uma unidade de codificador em treliça compreendendo uma unidade mapeadora de símbolo na qual um símbolo de saída R é forçado a um valor de menos um menos alfa (-1-<244>) quando R é igual a menos um (-1) e a um valor de mais um mais alfa (+1+<244>) quando R é igual a mais um (+1), onde o valor de alfa (<244>) é variável. Um bloco de controle estabelece o valor de alfa de acordo com o tipo de bits presentes dentro da unidade de codificador em treliça, para gerar ambos fluxos de bit ATSC 8-VSB robusto e padrão.
