Abstract

PROCESSO DE CRISTALIZAçãO , E, PROCESSO CONTìNUO PARA CRISTALIZAR UMA FOLHA DE POLìMERO CRISTALIZáVEL, MAS AMORFO. Um processo de cristalização que compreende passar uma massa de polímero cristalizável amorfo tendo uma primeira espessura (ft) através do espaço estreito de rolos contra-giratórios tendo um espaço estreito (ng) em uma relação ft:ng de pelo menos 1,2 para cristalizar o polímero a um grau de cristalinidade de pelo menos 15% e por meio disso produz um polímero semi-cristalino,e particular o polímero semi-cristalino. Cristalização por resistência de uma folha ou fibra usando uma etapa de estiramento para alongar a folha ou fibra não é mais necessária. Um alto grau de crsitalinidade é conferido quase instantaneamente, mesmo em copoliésteres de cristalizam lentamente. O processo permite alguém extrudar uma folha cristalizável mais fina, substancialmente retém a largura dimensional da folha conforme ela é passada através dos rolos de compressão, e produz folhas e pelotas substancialmente opticamente claras. Polímeros adequados incluem tereftalato de polietileno ou copolímeros ou homopolímeros de naftalato.
