Abstract
"SINAIS PILOTO PARA UTILIZAçãO EM CéLULAS MULTISETORIAIS". Seqüências e métodos de transmissão de sinal piloto são descritos para utilização em uma célula multisetorial. Pilotos em diferentes setores são transmitidos em diferentes níveis de potência conhecidos. Em setores adjacentes o piloto é transmitido enquanto nenhum piloto é transmitido no setor contíguo. Isto representa a transmissão de um sinal piloto NULL (nulo). A célula NULL também é suportada em que pilotos NULL são transmitidos em cada setor de uma célula ao mesmo tempo. Medições de múltiplos sinais piloto são realizadas. Pelo menos dois valores indicadores da qualidade do canal são gerados das medições correspondentes a pelo menos dois sinais piloto de diferentes níveis de potência. Os dois valores são transmitidos de volta para a estação base que utiliza ambos os valores para determinar a potência de transmissão necessária para atingir um SNR desejado no terminal sem fio. O terminal sem fio também reporta informação que indica sua localização até uma fronteira do setor.
