"PROCESSOS PARA DETECTAR E LOCALIZAR A POSIçãO DE UMA UNIDADE MóVEL DE COMUNICAçãO EM UM SISTEMA DE COMUNICAçãO E PARA LOCALIZAR A POSIçãO DE UM DISPOSITIVO DE COMUNICAçãO MóVEL" Os telefones celulares móveis padrão usam transmissões de sinais de rajadas encurtadas para sincronizar a transmissão de uma chamada através de uma rede de telefones celulares. Essas rajadas encurtadas bem como outras rajadas de canais de tráfego podem ser usadas para localizar a posição do telefone celular. Em operação, uma estação base primária envia um mensagem de designação de canal de tráfego para um telefone móvel selecionado, que, então, inicia transmissões de rajadas de canais de tráfego selecionados, tais como rajadas encurtadas, através de um intervalo de cinco segundos ou menos. A estação base primária e pelo menos duas outras estações base vizinhas recebem essas transmissões de rajadas e determinam suas respectivas distâncias do telefone celular com base no tempo de chegada das rajadas ou alguma outra medição de distância relacionada. Um centro de comando determina as localização do telefone celular através de triangulação das medição de distância das estações base.
