Abstract
"SERVODIREçãO MANUAL OU AUTOMáTICA". A servodireção compreende um cilindro (1) tendo uma câmara em que um pistão (2) se desloca axialmente, o pistão tendo uma cremalheira (3) que casa com um braço oscilante (5) ligado às rodas correspondentes de um veículo, de modo que a aplicação de um fluido hidráulico (óleo) às câmaras do cilindro (1) e à câmara (16), na qual se estabelece o braço oscilante (5), torna possível o deslocamento em uma direção ou na outra do pistão (2) e, em conseq³ência, a oscilação em uma direção ou na outra do braço oscilante (5) e, em conseq³ência, o deslocamento das rodas. A novidade consiste em que as câmaras do cilindro (1) e do braço oscilante (5) podem ser abastecidas externamente a partir de uma válvula de controle (10), que é acionada quando o volante do veículo é acionado pelo motorista, ou em que o óleo entra nestas câmaras diretamente pelos condutos (19, 22) a fim de desempenhar a mesma função sem o óleo passar pela válvula de controle (10), mas a passagem de óleo pelos condutos (19, 22) é controlada por meio de um sistema de controle que permite dirigir o veículo automaticamente sem a intervenção do motorista. Os condutos de injeção e retorno de óleo incluem válvulas seletoras (18, 24, 20 e 25) que, controladas pelo sistema de controle correspondente, proporcionam o tal modo de operação duplo, isto é, manual e automático, da servodireção.
