Abstract

Patente de Invenção: <B>"MEIOS E PROCESSOS PARA INFLUENCIAR O COMPORTAMENTO DE FLORAçãO DE PLANTAS"<D>. A invenção refere-se a meios e a processos que permitem a provisão de plantas que apresentem um comportamento de floração alterado e, particularmente, de plantas modificadas geneticamente que apresentem uma formação de flor precose ou retardada quando comparadas a plantas do tipo selvagem não correspondentemente modificadas porém de outro modo similares, assim como a um promotor tecido-específico que pode ser utilizado em um processo para a produção destas plantas geneticamente modificadas. A invenção é baseada na descoberta de que o comportamento de floração das plantas pode ser influenciado pelo fato de se melhorar a atividade de clivagem da sacarose especificamente no meristema apical das plantas. Neste contexto, uma melhoria da atividade de clivagem da sacarose especificamente no apoplasto do meristema apical de plantas resulta em uma formação precose de flores enquanto que uma melhoria da atividade de clivagem da sacarose no citoplasma de células do meristema apical leva a uma formação retardada de flores comparada com as plantas do tipo selvagem não modificadas correspondentes.
