"TESTE DE TRIAGEM PARA DETECçãO PRECOCE DECâNCER COLORRETAL". é descrito um método para detectarneoplasia ou câncer do cólon ou reto que compreende obter umaamostra do muco colorretal do reto de um paciente e detectar apresença de um marcador selecionado do grupo que consiste emaldeídos alifáticos de cadeia longa contendo de 12 a 20 átomosde carbono, particularmente CH~ 3~(CH~ 2~)~ 14~CHO e CH~3~(CH~ 2~)~ 16~CHO; e precursores ligados a plasmalogênio dosmesmos. Preferivelmente, o método compreende tratar a amostracom reagente de Schiff e detectar neoplasia ou câncer do cólonou reto com base na coloração produzida a cerca de 550-590 nmna amostra pelo tratamento. o método não requer a etapa deadicionar uma enzima para detectar o marcador dissacarídeocontendo ßD-Gal(1-3)-D-GalNAc(<224>l-Thr/Ser) e um marcadorsacarídeo contendo D-galactose e/ou2-acetamido-2-desoxi-D-galactose.
