Abstract

<B>FITA DE MOLDAR ORTOPéDICA E MéTODO PARA PREPARAR A MESMA<D> A presente invenção se refere a uma fita de moldar ortopédica e a um método para preparar a mesma. Mais particularmente, a fita de moldar contendo um substrato preparado por contração térmica de um tecido entrelaçado em urdidura compreendendo uma fibra de poliéster em um ponto em cadeia e em uma camada de trama, um fio esticado conectando os pontos em cadeia e uma fibra elástica, é revestida com resina de pré-polímero de poliuretano curável em água. Como resultado, a invenção proporciona: 1) melhor capacidade de conformação ao formato do corpo devido à extensão axial múltipla; 2) menor compressão para os membros do paciente; 3) resistência ao esmagamento suficiente em comparação com aquela do molde de fibra de vidro, embora ela tenha uma camada mais fina; e 4) localização significativamente reduzida da resina revestida durante o armazenamento.
