Abstract

"MATERIAL CERâMICO COM UMA ALTA TOLERâNCIA à TENSãO E TOLERâNCIA AOS TECIDOS, E, PROCESSO PARA A FABRICAçãO DO MESMO". A invenção refere-se à composição, fabricação e uso de nitreto de silício como um biomaterial para uso médico como um suporte de superfície, biomaterial ortopédico para superfícies de desgaste em juntas artificiais, por exemplo os quadris e a junta do joelho. A fabricação é executada preparando-se e misturando-se uma mistura de pó contendo 70 a 100% em volume de nitreto de silício com a adição de 0 a 30% em volume de um ou uma combinação dos seguintes materiais: dióxido de zircónio, dióxido de ítrio, dióxido de titânio, óxido de cálcio, carbureto de silício e mulita. Um corpo é formado a partir da mistura, o qual é submetido a uma pressão elevada, maior do que 50 MPa e temperaturas entre 500 e 3.000° C sob sinterização (HIP). O material pode ser utilizado por uma, ambas ou todas as superfícies de desgaste em uma junta artificial.
