Abstract

"MéTODO E EQUIPAMENTO PARA INDICAR A QUANTIDADE DE MATERIAL DE LONA DE FREIO EM UM CONJUNTO DE FREIO, CONJUNTO DE SAPATA DE FREIO E CONJUNTO DE SENSOR DE TEMPERATURA DE LONA DE FREIO". Um indicador de desgaste de lona de freio utiliza um conjunto de sensor de temperatura (36) embutido em uma lona de freio (26) de um conjunto de freio (26) de um conjunto de freio a tambor (10). O conjunto de sensor de temperatura (36) inclui dois sensores de temperatura (38,40) com o primeiro sensor de temperatura (38) disposto a uma primeira distância (x), a partir da superfície de desgaste (32) da lona de freio (26), e o segundo sensor de temperatura (40) disposto a um segunda distância (X+d), a partir da superfície de desgaste (32). Um dispositivo de cronometragem (48) mede o período de tempo para que o primeiro sensor de temperatura (38) alcance uma primeira temperatura predeterminada, e mede o período de tempo para que o segundo sensor de temperatura (40) alcance uma segunda temperatura predeterminada. A espessura útil remanescente (X) da lona de freio é determinada com base na razão dos respectivos períodos de tempo. Portanto, o indicador provê uma determinação baseada em tempo-temperatura de quando as lonas de freio devem ser trocadas. Esta determinação é facilmente monitorada durante a operação do veículo e pode ser feita sem a necessidade de uma medição física ou inspeção visual da espessura da lona de freio em cada sapata de freio.
