Abstract

"SISTEMA PARA USO NA COMPENSAçãO DE ESMAECIMENTO DE UM SINAL AM ANALóGICO, TRANSMISSOR E RECEPTOR DE SINAL AM ANALóGICO PARA USO NA COMPENSAçãO DE ESMAECIMENTO, E, PROCESSO DE COMPENSAçãO PARA O ESMAECIMENTO DE UM SINAL AM ANALóGICO". Um aparelho e processo de compensação de esmaecimento são fornecidos nos quais os blocos do sinal AM analógico (por exemplo, voz) são comprimidos em tempo em um transmissor (10). Os espaços no sinal comprimido em tempo (15) são preenchidos com símbolos piloto (17) (ou formas de ondas complexas similares) possuindo características conhecidas, tais como amplitudes predeterminadas. O sinal AM analógico comprimido em tempo (por exemplo, SSB ou VSB) é transmitido através do canal de esmaecimento. Em um receptor AM analógico (20), uma estimativa (24) do esmaecimento que ocorreu no canal de transmissão é feita pela observação da amplitude dos símbolos piloto recebidos em pontos separados no tempo, e a interpolação (26) para determinar a quantidade de esmaecimento que ocorreu através do sinal transmitido totasl. Um compensador de esmaecimento (30) compara o sinal comprimido no tempo esmaecido e recebido (28) com os resultados de interpolação (27), e ajusta a amplitude e a fase do sinal recebido de acordo para compensar o esmaecimento que ocorreu no canal de transmissão. O sinal AM analógico compensador é expandido no tempo (32) e enviado para um usuário.
