Abstract

"MOTOR A DIESEL PARA LOCOMOTIVA". Um sistema de resfriamento para motor de locomotiva tem um par de grupos de radiadores (22, 34) que têm substancialmente a mesma capacidade de resfriamento. O sistema tem circuitos de refrigerante de motor e de pós-resfriador separados (21, 27, 33-37) e atribui um dos grupos de radiadores exclusivamente a cada um dos circuitos, com a capacidade de resfriamento máxima sendo inferior à necessária para absorver a carga térmica do motor em um modo de funcionamento aquecido predeterminado, porém superior à necessária para absorver uma carga térmica do pós-resfriador no mesmo modo de funcionamento aquecido predeterminado. Para equilibrar o sistema, um conduto de ligação (45) direciona uma parte do refrigerante quente que sai do motor no sentido de um conduto (33) que leva diretamente ao radiador do pós-resfriador para suplementar a capacidade de resfriamento máxima do radiador do motor com uma parte predeterminada da capacidade de resfriamento máxima do radiador do pós-resfriador na absorção da carga térmica do motor. Um conduto de fluxo de retorno do radiador do pós-resfriador até o motor pode ser um tanque de refrigerante comum (40), um conduto separado (250), ou ambos (140, 150). Um conduto dotado de válvula (47, 48) em paralelo com o conduto de ligação fornece seletivamente fluxo de refrigerante adicional a partir do motor até o radiador do pós-resfriador para absorver calor adicional do motor para limitação da temperatura do motor a cargas mais elevadas e/ou temperaturas ambientes.
