Abstract
CORDA. A presente invenção refere-se a cordas contendo feixes de filamentos, em que cada feixe compreende no mínimo 70% em volume de filamentos de polímero de cristal líquido, e em que no mínimo um feixe compreende filamentos de polímero de cristal líquido de no mínimo 10 deniers por filamento de tamanho. A presente invenção também se refere a métodos de tração ou de levantamento de um objeto por aplicação de tensão a uma tal corda conectada ao objeto, em que a corda é disposta sobre uma roldana ou sobre uma superfície de orientação não rotativa, e uma razão de um diâmetro da roldana ou de um diâmetro efetivo da superfície de orientação não rotativa, D, para um diâmetro da corda, d, é de no mínimo 20:1.
