Abstract

CEPA MODIFICADA POR LIPASE. A presente invenção está relacionada a uma célula hospedeira produtora de retinoides, particularmente levedura oleaginosa, modificada de modo que a porcentagem de acetato de retinila com base no total de retinoides produzidos por tal célula hospedeira seja aumentada durante a fermentação usando óleos de triglicerídeos, como, por exemplo, óleo vegetal, como fonte de carbono, em que a atividade de certas hidrolases ou transferases endógenas envolvidas em conversões indesejadas de retinol ou acetato de retinila é reduzida ou abolida. Particularmente, tal célula hospedeira modificada pode ser útil em um processo biotecnológico para produção de vitamina A.
