Abstract
Trata-se de um aparelho para monitoramento destinado à determinação do acúmulo de fluidos pulmonares que compreende um tubo de alimentação dotado de primeiro(s) eletrodo(s) posicionado(s) no mesmo para contato elétrico com o tecido de um esôfago de um paciente alvo incluindo um esfíncter esofágico inferior (EEI) e/ou um tecido em proximidade ao EEI, segundo(s) eletrodo(s) dimensionado(s) e conformado(s) para contatar a pele do paciente alvo, e uma memória não transitória tendo armazenada nela instruções de código para aplicar corrente(s) alternada(s) ao(s) par(es) de primeiros e segundos eletrodos, medir uma tensão através do(s) par(es), e computar uma estimativa de uma mudança de fluidos pulmonares em relação a uma linha de base nos pulmões do paciente alvo de acordo com a corrente alternada aplicada e a tensão medida, em que a aplicação, a medição e a computação da estimativa da mudança em fluidos pulmonares são iterativamente executadas para monitorar o paciente alvo para determinação do acúmulo de fluidos pulmonares enquanto o tubo de alimentação estiver em uso.
