Abstract
trata-se de um processo para a extração de furfural incluindo: (a) submeter uma composição que compreende furfural, água, pelo menos um ácido inorgânico, pelo menos um ácido orgânico e uma mistura de solventes que compreende um solvente aromático e um solvente oxigenado, a uma primeira etapa de separação que proporciona: (i) uma primeira fase orgânica; (b) submeter a primeira fase orgânica a uma primeira etapa de destilação que proporciona: (i) uma primeira corrente de topo que compreende furfural e uma porção de pelo menos um ácido orgânico; (c) submeter a primeira corrente de topo da etapa (b) a um segunda etapa de separação que proporciona: (i) uma segunda corrente de topo enriquecida com furfural; (d) submeter a segunda corrente de topo da etapa (c) a uma segunda etapa de destilação que proporciona: (i) uma terceira corrente de topo que compreende um azeótropo de água e furfural e (ii) uma terceira corrente de fundo que compreende furfural.
