Abstract

um processo para a produção de glicóis é fornecido, em que o processo compreende as etapas de: (i) colocar uma matéria-prima contendo sacarídeo em contato com um sistema catalisador em um reator na presença de um meio de reação, um sistema tampão para controlar o ph dentro do reator, e hidrogênio; (ii) retirar uma corrente de produto do reator do reator; (iii) separar a corrente de produto do reator em pelo menos uma corrente de produto glicol e uma corrente de hidrocarbonetos pesados; e (iv) reciclar a corrente de hidrocarbonetos pesados pelo menos parcialmente de volta para o reator; em que os componentes do sistema tampão retirados do reator na corrente de produto do reator se separam da corrente de pesados e são reciclados com a mesma.
