Abstract

a presente invenção refere-se a um cateter de dilatação que inclui um componente de balão de alta pressão (108) que compreende um balão interno (224) e um balão externo (226). um interior do balão interno está em comunicação fluida com um lúmen do cateter para receber fluido de insuflação a partir do mesmo. o balão externo define um interior separado dentro do qual o balão interno está disposto. o balão externo tem um orifício (125) em uma parede do mesmo para ventilar o interior do balão externo para o meio ambiente. os pescoços proximais dos balões interno e externo são unidos a um eixo de acionamento externo do cateter e os pescoços distais dos balões interno e externo são unidos a um eixo de acionamento interno do cateter. de acordo com modalidades da presente invenção, o interior do balão externo não está em comunicação fluida com o interior do balão interno, o lúmen do cateter ou qualquer outra fonte de fluido do cateter.
