Abstract

são providos um aparelho de avaliação de característica de superfície e um método de avaliação de característica de superfície que avaliam a tensão residual de um material de aço submetido a um processo de modificação de superfície, levando-se em consideração a direção de profundidade. este aparelho de avaliação de característica de superfície está provido com um oscilador, um detector e um instrumento de medição. o material de aço é fixado em contato com ou em proximidade a uma bobina incluída no detector. uma corrente alternada é aplicada do oscilador para a bobina, e uma computação é realizada com base em um sinal representando uma característica elétrica através da bobina. esta operação é realizada repetitivamente enquanto a frequência da corrente alternada varia continuamente para avaliar a tensão residual do material de aço. a bobina possui uma frequência auto-ressonante superior às frequências operacionais.
