Abstract
a invenção refere-se a um método para a produção de escórias e ferro gusa contendo óxido de titânio a partir da ilmenita. o método é caracterizado pelo fato de compreender as etapas: a) pré-redução de ilmenita na presença de agente redutor em um reator de pré-redução para metalizar pelo menos parte do ferro na ilmenita; b) remoção opcionalmente do agente redutor e ganga não reagidos da ilmenita pré-reduzida; e c) fundição a ilmenita pré-reduzida em um forno de arco elétrico para separar o óxido de titânio em uma fase de escória fundida e ferro gusa em uma fase de metal fundido. a invenção também se refere a uma planta para a produção de escória e ferro gusa de óxido de titânio a partir de ilmenita e escória e ferro gusa contendo óxido de titânio.
