Abstract
a presente invenção refere-se a um método para a produção de uma árvore transgênica tendo um teor de xilano reduzido em comparação com uma árvore de tipo selvagem da mesma espécie, o referido método compreendendo a redução de expressão de um ou mais genes da glicosiltransferase 43 (gt43), família na referida árvore transgênica, em que as propriedades de crescimento, propriedades mecânicas e/ou propriedades de sacarificação são melhoradas na referida árvore transgênica.
