Abstract
PROCESSO PARA A PRODUÇÃO DE ÁCIDO ACÉTICO. A separação de fases no decantador de um processo para a produção de ácido acético por carbonilação de metanol na presença de um catalisador sob condições de baixo teor de água e de acidez elevada é melhorada através da formação de uma mistura líquida (D) que tem um teor de água de no máximo 20% em peso, com base no peso da mistura líquida, e uma razão em peso de ácido acético em relação a água de pelo menos 1:1, e dividindo a mistura líquida através do fornecimento de um teor de alcano(s) de D de 0,1 a 15% em peso, com base no peso de D, para se obter uma fase aquosa e leve e uma fase de orgânica e pesada.
