Abstract
"MéTODO PARA OPERAR UMA OU MAIS CéLULAS DE ELETRóLISE PARA PRODUçãO DE ALUMìNIO". Um método para operar uma ou mais células de eletrólise (43, 154, 243) para produção de alumínio, a célula compreendendo anodos inertes ou substancialmente inertes, em que um gás (21, 126, 221) que contém oxigênio desprendido pelo processo de eletrólise na célula é recuperado e removido da mesma. O gás que contém oxigênio é introduzido em uma câmara de combustão (38, 149, 238) onde ele é reagido com um gás (7, 116, 209) que contém carbono em um processo de combustão. As emissões de CO~ 2~ e NO~ x~ podem ser reduzidas.
