Abstract

"ANTENA MICROONDA INTERSTICIAL COM EFEITO LATERAL PARA HIPERTERMIA EM TECIDOS EM CIRURGIAS INVASIVAS MINIMAS". Dispositivo de aplicação (1), por exemplo, uma agulha de metal ou um cateter plástico que possui na porção terminal (2) da extremidade livre um aumento gradual de espessura para formar substancialmente uma calha guia (3) que termina em uma abertura lateral (4) feita no dispositivo de aplicação (1). Deste modo, uma antena intersticial (10) é obtida formada por um tubo coaxial tendo um condutor externo (7), por uma camada dielétrica (9) e por um condutor central (8) embutido na camada dielétrica (9) que o isola do condutor externo (7). A antena (10) pode ser colocada em um tecido alvo, ao longo de uma direção de atuação formando um ângulo <244> com a direção de introdução. Deste modo, a antena (10) atinge uma superfície isotérmica real, i.e. uma massa de tecido realmente coagulada dentro de uma superfície curva (13), desde que a ponta do dispositivo de aplicação (1) é conectada eletricamente com o condutor externo (7) e aumenta sua área de ação.
