Abstract

"PROCESSO PARA OBTENçãO DE CONCENTRADOS DE TITâNIO COM ELEVADO TEOR DE TIO~ 2~ E BAIXO TEOR DE RADIONUCLìDEOS A PARTIR DE CONCENTRADOS MECâNICOS DE ANATáSIO". A presente invenção trata de um processo original para a produção de concentrado de titânio com baixo teor de radionuclídeos a partir de concentrados mecânicos de anatásio. Este concentrado, com alto teor de TiO~ 2~, destina-se basicamente ao processo cloreto de produção de pigmentos de dióxido de titânio. O processo baseia-se no processamento de concentrados mecânicos de anatásio por meio da seguinte sequência de operações unitárias: calcinação ao ar e redução com hidrogênio ou outro gás redutor, ambas em reator de leito fluidizado ou forno rotativo, separação magnética de baixa intensidade do produto reduzido, separação magnética de alta intensidade da fração não magnética proveniente da separação de baixa intensidade, lixiviação com ácido clorídrico do produto magnético de alta intensidade, filtragem e secagem do produto desta lixiviação, oxidação a alta temperatura do produto da secagem em presença de uma mistura de fluoreto de sódio (NaF) e sílica amorfa (SiO~ 2~), choque térmico do minério oxidado, lixiviação clorídrica do produto da oxidação em presença de fluoreto de sódio, secagem do produto da 2^ a^ lixiviação e separação magnética de alta intensidade, obtendo-se como produto final a fração não magnética desta separação. O processo caracteriza-se por apresentar modificações na seq³ência das operações unitárias conhecidas do estado da técnica, melhoria em praticamente todas as operações unitárias envolvidas e utilização inédita de mecanismos para a remoção de radionuclídeos.
