Abstract

"DISPOSITIVO DE COMUNICAçãO MULTI-MODO COM LOCALIZAçãO DE POSIçãO". A presente invenção prove um rádio móvel de faixas múltiplas (também designado como um dispositivo de comunicação sem fio (WCD)) (102) capaz de comunicar-se tanto com um sistema de comunicação de satélite (108, 114) como um sistema de comunicação terrestre (120, 122) . O sistema de comunicação por satélite pode ser um sistema de comunicação por satélite de baixa órbita terrestre (LEO). O sistema de comunicação terrestre pode ser um sistema de comunicação pessoal (PCS), ou um sistema celular, incluindo tanto um sistema celular com base analógica como digital. O WCD pode receber atualmente sinais a partir do sistema de comunicação terrestre e do sistema de comunicação de satélite.
