Abstract
"COMPOSIçãO DE ELASTÈMERO QUE CONTéM REFORçO DE ARGILA INTERCALADA E ESFOLIADA FORMADO IN SITU DENTRO DO HOSPEDEIRO DO ELASTÈMERO E ARTIGO, TAL COMO UM PNEU, TENDO PELO MENOS UM COMPONENTE DESTA". Esta invenção diz respeito a uma composição de borracha que contém reforço de argila organofílica intercalada e pelo menos parcialmente esfoliada formado in situ dentro do hospedeiro do elastómero de uma argila hidrófila. A invenção particularmente diz respeito a uma modificação in situ de uma argila hidrófila para compatibilizar a argila com um elastómero com base em dieno. A argila é convertida de ser hidrófila na natureza para ser mais hidrofóbica na natureza e, portanto, mais compatível com o elastómero mis-turando a massa do hospedeiro elastomérico com uma argila de esmectita, preferivelmente uma argila de montmorilonita ou de hectorita, e um sal de amónio de hidrocarbila, tal como, por exemplo, um sal de amênio quaternário, e particularmente na ausência de adição de água ao hospedeiro do elastómero. Portanto, tal procedimento in situ de intercalação e esfoliação pelo menos parcialmente conta com uma mistura da massa deste com um hospedeiro do elastómero em uma temperatura elevada e sob condições de alto cisalhamento em contraste para pré intercalar a argila em um meio de base aquosa e em contraste com processamento de fundição de baixa viscosidade simples de um polimero termoplástico.
