Abstract

"MéTODO DE PESQUISA DE VìDEO DIGITAL REGISTRADO PARA áREAS DE ATIVIDADE". Um método de escaneamento de imagens de vídeo registradas de uma cena para localizar aquelas imagens em que existe uma quantidade pré-determinada de atividade. Imagens (1) da cena são obtidas sobre um período de tempo. Cada uma das imagens (SI) é comparada com uma imagem de referência (RI) da cena, e uma imagem de diferença (DI) é criada para cada comparação. Um teste limite é aplicado à cada imagem como uma medida da atividade que ocorre na cena no tempo que a imagem é obtida, e os resultados do teste são armazenados com a imagem em uma memória (18) de um sistema de processamento de imagem (10). Quando as imagens são subseq³entemente observadas, um limite de observação relacionado à quantidade de atividade que ocorre na cena é estabelecido pelo observador. Os resultados de teste para cada imagem armazenada são, em seguida, escaneados para determinar se a imagem se encontra no critério de observação. Se assim for, a imagem é, ou revelada para observação em um monitor (24), ou um arquivo (F2) é criado para análise. Desde que o critério de limite de observação pode ser rapidamente determinado para um grande número de imagens armazenadas, não é necessário observar as imagens em sua ordem seq³encial. Isto economiza uma quantidade substancial de tempo, e permite que o usuário localize a informação pertinente relacionada às atividades em um local monitorado.
