Abstract
"PROCESSO DE REDUçãO DIRETA PARA PRODUZIR FERRO E/OU LIGAS DE FERRO E APARELHO PARA PRODUZIR FERRO E/OU LIGAS DE FERRO POR ESSE PROCESSO". Expõe-se um processo de redução direta para produzir ferro e/ou ligas de ferro. O processo opera em uma escala comercial em um vaso metalúrgico que é dotado de uma soleira, paredes laterais, e um teto, e uma dimensão de largura mínima do interior da soleira de pelo menos 4 metros. O processo é um processo baseado em banho fundido e inclui alimentar material ferruginoso, material carbonáceo, e fundentes para dentro do vaso e reduzir o material de alimentação ferruginoso para metal fundido no banho fundido e gerar gases no banho. O processo também inclui injetar jatos de gás que contém oxigênio que compreende ar ou ar com até 50% de oxigênio através de 3 ou mais lanças em um espaço situado acima da superfície inativa do banho fundido (o 'espaço de topo') e queimar os gases gerados no processo e gerar movimento ascendente do material fundido a partir do banho fundido para o espaço de topo para facilitar a transferência de calor para o banho e reduzir ao mínimo a perda de calor a partir do vaso. O processo é caracterizado por arrastar um volume de gás de espaço de topo em jatos de um gás que contém oxigênio injetado para dentro do vaso o qual é de 2-6 vezes o volume do gás injetado.
