Abstract

"LENTE OFTáLMICA MULTIFOCAL COM ABERTURA INDUZIDA". Lentes multifocais são definidas superfícies ópticas asféricas não-cónicas. Várias formas alternativas de superfícies fornecem uma visão central para distância circundada por um degrau óptico. O degrau óptico tem um poder que aumenta rapidamente na direção radial que cria uma abertura induzida através da qual os elementos corticais cortical do sistema visual são induzidos a se concentrar. A abertura induzida resulta em claridade aumentada em visão para distância. Superfícies ópticas asféricas não-cónicas são definidas para produzirem as distribuições desejadas de poder óptico. Essas funções de superfície são também fornecidas em forma de séries polinómicas para simplicidade de uso em tornos controlados por computador para a moldagem das lentes de contato. Para permitir uma manipulação aprimorada das funções de definição, são acrescentados elementos adicionais, tais como termos cónicos.
