Abstract

"PROCESSO APERFEIçOADO PARA PRODUçãO DE ADJUVANTE DE FILTRAçãO EM REFINARIAS DE ALUMINA". A presente invenção se refere a um processo aperfeiçoado para produção de adjuvante de filtração de aluminato de tricálcio (TCA) para uso em refinaria de alumina. A cal viva é hidratada em um hidratador usando solução de hidratação adequada para formar uma borra de cal hidratada (10). é adicionado um agente tensoativo adequado na solução de hidratação antes da hidratação da cal. Alternativamente, agentes tensoativos podem ser adicionados à cal viva tanto durante a hidratação como após a hidratação. A borra de cal hidratada é então transferida para um tanque de estocagem/transferência (12) antes de ser bombeada para um tanque de envelhecimento de cal (14). Um licor Bayer concentrado e vapor são adicionados ao tanque (14) para proporcionar uma solução cáustica de aluminato que reage com a cal hidratada. Suficiente tempo de residência é deixado no tanque de envelhecimento de cal (14) para o produto inicial da reação "envelhecer" antes do uso, formando partículas relativamente puras de TCA termodinamicamente estável. A adição de agente ou agentes tensoativos adequados na concentração apropriada aperfeiçoa significativamente a formação de TCA na instalação de envelhecimento de cal.
