Abstract
"MéTODO E EQUIPAMENTO PARA EFETUAR RECAPTAçãO DE MODO INATIVO E HANDOFF EM UM SISTEMA DE COMUNICAçãO ASSìNCRONO". Técnicas para processar eficientemente canais de paging em um sistema de comunicação sem fio assíncrono (100). Em um aspecto, caso as estações base (104a, b, c) não estejam sincronizadas umas com as outras e a hora de page designada de um terminal remoto (106) seja diferente de estação base para estação base, o terminal remoto (106) pode se ativar (wake up) com base na estação base mais adiantada em uma lista de busca de recaptação (712) que inclui estações base candidatas para as quais o terminal remoto pode ser repassado. Em outro aspecto, os critérios para selecionar estações base para avaliação como metas de recaptação podem ser baseados na potência recebida (512) das estações base bem como sua temporização (timing) (514), ambos podendo ser tornados relativos àqueles de uma estação base preferida. Em mais outro aspecto, o terminal remoto pode se ativar várias vezes em um ciclo de paging (isto é, um ciclo de frame ou um ciclo DRX) caso existam uma ou mais estações base candidatas para as quais o terminal remoto possa ser repassado.
