Abstract
"FONTE RADIOATIVA, SISTEMA DE LIBERAçãO PARA BRAQUITERAPIA, TUBO BIOCOMPATìVEL E MéTODO DE TRATAMENTO DE UMA CONDIçãO RESPONSIVA A TERAPIA POR RADIAçãO". Fontes radioativas, de preferência sementes radioativas, para aplicação em braquiterapia, compreendendo um radioisótopo dentro de um recipiente biocompatível selado, no qual elo menos uma parte da superfície externa do recipiente é ranhurada, de preferência com uma ranhura curvada. A superfície externa ranhurada de preferência é substancialmente livre de angularidades. As ditas ranhuras aumentam a ecogenia da fonte utilizando ultra-som médico a uma maior gama de ângulos com a sonda de ultra-som, assim aumentando a visibilidade a ultra-som da fonte. Entre os radioisótopos de preferência estão o paládio- 103 e o iodo-125.
