A glycoside preparation made by extracting hop leaves with an aqueous alcohol has been found to impart a pleasant grape flavor to the beer in which the glycoside preparation has been added. It has been found that the glycoside composition of the glycoside preparation made from aqueous alcohol-extracted hop plant leaves differs from a similar preparation made from the hop cones.
