Abstract
"CONECTOR CONJUGáVEL MOLHADO". Um conector submarino tem unidades macho e de receptáculo cada uma contendo um membro dotado de uma câmara interna encerrando um elemento de contato quando as unidades estão desacopladas. Os membros, cada um tendo uma parte extrema dianteira resiliente com uma abertura comunicante com a câmara, e uma face extrema dianteira em acoplamento para vedação com a correspondente face extrema do membro oposto para proporcionar uma vedação quando as unidades estão acopladas entre si. Um atuador em cada unidade comprime a parte extrema dianteira de cada membro para fechar e selar a abertura, e a disposição é de tal natureza que as partes extremas dianteiras recuam dos atuadores e se abrem quando as unidades estão conjuntamente acopladas, para permitir que um elemento de contato passe para o interior do membro da unidade oposta para conexão com o elemento de contato oposto. As partes extremas dianteiras dos membros são auto-seláveis sob ambas as condições acoplada e desacoplada, não exigindo quaisquer elementos de vedação adicionais.
