Abstract

<B>MéTODO DE FABRICAR CONJUNTO DE CARROCERIA E CHASSI DE VEìCULO<D> Um método para formar um elemento estrutural de canaleta fechada tendo uma porção central que é ampliada em relação às porções de extremidade do mesmo é revelado. Inicialmente, primeiro e segundo tubos são formados em respectivas matrizes de hidroformação para terem formatos desejados que são, de preferência, caracterizados por primeiras porções de extremidade de diâmetro relativamente grande e segundas porções de extremidade de diâmetro relativamente pequeno. Cada um dos dois tubos é, então, orientado de modo que as primeiras porções de extremidade de diâmetro relativamente grande sejam dispostas adjacentes uma a outra. Por último, as primeiras porções de extremidade de diâmetro relativamente grande são unidas juntas de qualquer maneira convencional, tal como por soldagem de topo, para formar um elemento unitário caracterizado por uma porção central de diâmetro relativamente grande que se estende entre um par de porções de extremidade de diâmetro relativamente pequeno. O elemento unitário pode ser usado como um componente, tal como um trilho lateral, de um conjunto de carroceria e chassi de veículo.
