This method is employed in thermo-electric and steam power plants and factories where solid and liquid fuels are used. It provides for a high degree of purification of fume gas with minimum consumption of electric power in one or more sequential floatation operations. Method principles: having passed through the electric filters, the sleeve filters or the pneumatic cyclones the fume gases enter a chamber where preliminary floatation of the particles takes place using hydrated lime or calcium carbonate hydrophobized with sodium oleate on the surface of the gas bubbles, formed by stirring. The sulphur dioxide is then absorbed by the chlorinated solid particles.
