Abstract

By the method 3-(L-pyroglutamyl)-L-thiazolydine-4-carboxylicacid and its derivatives are produced by quantitative yields bycondensation of the L-pyroglutamic acid or its substitutedderivatives and a medium of aliphatic or aromatic hydrocarbonsolvents or of chlorinated solvents in the presence ofdicyclohexylcarbodiimide or similar condensation agents or by thecondensation of reactive derivatives of the L-pyroglutamic acidwith derivatives of thiazolydine-4-carboxylic acid. The hydrolysisof the protected groups of thiazolydin-4-carboxylic acid is madeby quantitative yields by phase-converting catalysts.
