Abstract
Cell screening examination method by which cells (genetically modified and / or hybridomas) are encapsulated within membranes permeable to an interesting substance secreted by the cell to be screened, but substantially impermeable to cells. In a multi-compartment apparatus, each of which contains an extracapsular medium and capsules containing the cells, the cells are cultured in the capsules. The interesting substance, secreted in the capsule, crosses the membrane and passes into the extracapsular medium which is examined. The process is repeated for the capsules of the positive compartments, until a cell secreting the substance of interest is identified.
