  B R E V E T D'INVENTION

 <EMI ID=1.1>

  PATENT

Double drainage system for glazing consisting of a flexible profile element folded back to evacuate water in drainage profiles

The present invention relates to a profiled element extruded in flexible material, which covers all of its support and whose main functions are to allow the tight connection of two glass surfaces on a straight or curved support in one or more planes, and to collect the infiltration water and condensation water to discharge them into drainage profiles at levels lower than the ends of the flexible profiled element.

We have known for a long time the junctions of drainage profiles made of hard materials, with the numerous sealing problems at the connections of these hard profiles, especially when they are not welded perfectly in a leaktight manner.

We also know of the many systems in which a third component specifically ensures the tightness of the connection of two profiles, such as, for example, sealants or synthetic foams.

These systems all have the major drawback of not allowing the certainty of obtaining the expected result and of escaping the influence of atmospheric agents.

The objective and the originality of the present invention is therefore to guarantee a good result in the installation of the glazing with regard to the sealing of the fittings, which has always been particularly delicate and uncertain in the old methods.

The essential advantages obtained thanks to the invention are therefore the following:

1 [deg.] An economy in the bending of the sealing profile which adapts to

its support, straight or curved, in one or more planes.

2 [deg.] This sealing profile includes contact surfaces with the

glazing elements which are designed to prevent the passage of water for infiltration.

3 [deg.] This profile also includes raised sections to support the elements of

glazing, raised which can be stiffened by the introduction of rigid elements in the extruded pipes under the flexible contact surface with the glazing elements.

4 [deg.] These round tubular support statements can play a role

rotation around their base in the event of large expansion of the glazing elements, so as to ensure longer contact with the entire surface of the seal, to prevent water infiltration under the glass wall.

5 [deg.] All cutouts of the structure and rigid drainage profiles

are completely removed.

6 [deg.] This flexible profile integrates perfectly into profile systems

rigid, to easily allow the structural connections in an invisible way, since all the accesses to the fixings of these connections are made under the surface covered by the flexible profiles independent of the structure.

7 [deg.] The system provides a uniform aesthetic solution in works where

it is necessary to solve complex problems of bending the support of the profile on two or more planes.

In order to better understand the invention, it is now described by way of example with reference to a drawing in which:

Figure 1 is a schematic section of the flexible profiled element. Figure 2 is a schematic section of a support for which the section of Figure 1 is suitable. Figure 3 is a schematic section of a variant of the flexible profile. Figure 4 is a schematic section of a support adapted to the flexible profile according to Figure 3. Figure 5 is a preferred variant in section of the flexible profile element. Figure 6 is a schematic section corresponding to the element of Figure 5. Figure 7 is a schematic section of the drainage system with the flexible element folded at its two ends. Figure 8 is a partial plan view of the double drainage system in which the flexible profiled element can be planar or bent along a radius.

Figure 9 is a partial plan view corresponding to Figure 8 in which the flexible profiled element is schematically bent along several radii located in different planes. Figure 10 is a schematic section of the principle of the flexible profiled element folded under stress at its end to discharge the collected water. Figure 11 is a perspective view of an example of flexible profile folded under stress in a rigid profiled drainage element. FIG. 12 is an example of a device suitable for easily and quickly folding under stress the end of a type of flexible profiled element in a rigid profiled drainage element. Figure 13 is a variant of Figure 12 adapted to a variant of flexible profile.

FIG. 14 is a perspective view of the end of a flexible profile folded up by means of the device in FIG. 12. FIG. 15 is a variant of FIG. 14.

It is therefore understood that the principle of the invention resides in the application of a sheet (Fig.l) of waterproof and flexible material profiled to adapt over the entire surface of a support (Fig.2). the junction of two glazing surfaces.

This flexible profiled element essentially consists of five raised elements to form four channels (1 to 4) around a central raised element (5) for fixing the glass clamping elements. The two channels (2) and (3) contiguous to the central support (5) have the function of collecting and evacuating the external water of infiltration, while the two lateral lateral channels (1) and (4) have the function to collect and evacuate internal condensation water. These four canals therefore essentially constitute double interior and exterior drainage.

It will be noted that the combination of principle of FIGS. 1 and 2 apparently does not include any element for attaching the flexible profile to its support.

The combination of Figures 3 and 4 highlights an example of attachment

(6) of the flexible element to its support, which is adapted and comprises two retaining elements (7) of the flexible element. These profiles are suitable for

 <EMI ID = 1.1>

complicated bending following variations of radii located in different planes.

Figure 6 shows the principle of a support which can be easily bent along radii located in different planes, because the central elevation (5) is located in the middle part of the support and therefore in the neutral part of the bending of the streamlined.

Note that the flexible profiled element (Fig.S) is adapted accordingly and that it comprises means for hooking (8) to its support, as well as autonomous means for supporting the glazing (9) allowing the introduction of rigid round elements into the tubes (9) of FIG. 5.

The realization of a perfect sphere requires bending along radii located in different planes, which is shown schematically in Figure 9.

The stress folding devices (10) of the ends of the flexible profiles are varied, for example in FIGS. 12 and 13. They must necessarily adapt to these profiles, for example according to FIGS. 14 and 15.

We can therefore distinguish two groups:

on the one hand the devices comprising branches introduced into the tubular elements, (Fig. 12 and 13) and on the other hand the devices whose branches are introduced into the channels (Fig. 13 and 15).
