<EMI ID=2.1>
<EMI ID=3.1>

<EMI ID=5.1>
la Fig.l représente une fiche à broche mâle amincie, dont la partie mâle du noeud comporte une tige filetée soudée au noeud pour le visser à l'ouvrant tandis que la partie femelle du noeud a une plaque fraisée pour fixer cette partie au dormant;
la Fig.2 est une fiche à cavité élargie dont chacune des parties du noeud comporte une tige filetée;

<EMI ID=8.1>

Hinges and plugs with oil reserve for vertical sash.
The subject of the invention is a hinge having an oil reserve for the silent pivoting of the vertical leaf of a door or window.

and to the frame either at the rebate or through the covering
by means of milled plates or threaded pins integral with the axial part or node of the hinge, are respectively called hinges and plugs.
The node comprises two elements movable with respect to each other, namely, a so-called female element forming a cavity of circular section, and a so-called male element having a pin which can engage gently in the cavity. .
To suspend a door or a window in its frame by means of such vertically aligned hinges, the male element of the node is fixed in a conventional manner to the frame and
<EMI ID = 2.1>
These interlocking hinges, even when properly aligned and
initially lubricated, eventually squeak if high ambient temperature dries out the lubricant; the edges in contact then rub dry. This is what happens in hospitals and in all establishments where the temperature is relatively high; this nuisance is particularly serious when it affects people in poor health.
In order to remedy this drawback, hinges and pins have already been produced, the node of which comprises an inlet channel for renewing the oil without having to unhinge the hinges; unfortunately we generally forget that this channel exists.
We have also provided hinges and plugs that
do not lubricate because the male pin is made of a plastic of the polyamide class. The spindle is longer than the height of the cavity and the cavity is machined so that the bottom of the cavity conforms to the shape of the tip of the spindle. As there is no contact between the two metal edges of the two parts of the node, the rotation of the opening is silent because the cavity of the female element rubs against the plastic pin.
It goes without saying, however, that the manufacture of plastic hinges and plugs with a male pin, complicates production and makes these hinges more expensive. In addition, these pins are obviously much more fragile and they break if the hinges are not aligned correctly or if the weight of the opening is too high. Similar considerations apply to the case of hinges the cavity of which is lined internally with plastic.
We have now found that we can realize for
<EMI ID = 3.1>
entirely metallic with male and female elements of circular cross-section nested with gentle friction one inside the other, the length of the pin of Male isolation being slightly greater than that of the cavity of the female element and the tip of the pin,

female fixed to the frame.
According to the invention, the hinge comprises either -in the cavity, or in the spindle, or in both, at least
<EMI ID = 5.1>
permanent lubrication of the hinge.
According to a preferred embodiment of the invention, at the opening of the female element and over a fraction of the height of said element, the internal diameter of the female element is greater than that of the pin so that an annular relief for an oil reserve is formed at the top of the cavity.
Alternatively, at the opening of the female element and over a fraction of the height of said element the diameter of the pin is smaller than the internal diameter of the female element so that an annular clearance for a Oil reserve is formed at the top of the cavity.
The accompanying drawings show, by way of example, two embodiments of the invention in which:
Fig.l shows a thinned male pin plug, the male part of the node of which has a threaded rod welded to the node to screw it to the opening while the female part of the node has a countersunk plate to fix this part to the frame;
FIG. 2 is a plug with an enlarged cavity, each part of the node of which comprises a threaded rod;

replaced by a rolled steel plate for fixing the male element.
In the hinges according to the invention, which are advantageously made of steel, the female part 1 of the node is always
<EMI ID = 8.1>
Before hanging the opening in the cavity of the female element, introduce a few drops of oil. Thanks to the annular clearance described below, not only does a thin film of oil form between the male pin and the cavity of the female element when the male pins of the sash are lowered into the cavities but the rest of the oil. fill an annular clearance, thus constituting a reserve which ensures the permanence of

The diameter of the cavity is a few tenths of a millimeter larger than the diameter of the spindle, so that it

<EMI ID = 15.1>
The demountable thinned pin hinge is silent because the lower part of the diameter C pin runs in oil. And no part of the hinge outside the bath can turn dry as long as the assembly is carried out correctly.
In the hinges according to the preferred embodiment of the invention, shown in the other figures of the drawings, the risk of dry friction between the pin and the inner wall of the. cavity outside the. oil bath sucks because
<EMI ID = 16.1> pin. Even if such a hinge were improperly mounted, part of the oil reserve would flow into the bottom of the cavity, but the outer wall of pin 15 would not rub dry out of the bath due to the moving the wall 16 away from the enlarged cavity.

These peculiarities will emerge clearly from the assembly diagram (Fig. 6) where PVC designates the overlap of the profiles and I part of the glass slat of a closed window which opens in the direction of arrow 27 by pivoting the hinge called "left".
