<EMI ID=1.1>
<EMI ID=2.1>
- parois ou murs en briques : quand les épaisseurs ne sont pas suffisantes, pour assurer la stabilité de l'ouvrage, on est forcé de recourir à un appareil de repères divers et compliqués s'imbriquant parfaitement avec les pièces d'accrochage en réfractaire cêramisê reprises à l'arrière par des crochets métalliques;
- voûtes plates en réfractaire cuit : il est nécessaire d'utiliser des accrochages nombreux et en général, toutes les pièces réfractaires sont munies de plusieurs battées mâles et femelles s'accouplant entre elles et avec des pièces plus grandes faisant saillie sur la face des éléments tournée vers la superstructure et suspendues au poutrellage par des ancrages métalliques;
des pièces de forme en matériaux réfractaires cuits sont scellées dans la masse soumise au feu et servant à accrocher celle-ci à la superstructure à L'aide de pièces métalliques appropriées;

"Refractory element and methods of manufacturing and assembling said element".
The present invention relates to a refractory element for the production of coverings intended to be suspended from a superstructure or from a sealed and heat-insulating metal box (casing), and in particular for the production from refractory concrete or rammed earth, of hanging walls. or flat suspended vaults of works or furnaces of metallurgical industries such as Pits furnaces, pushing furnaces, reheating furnaces, annealing furnaces, etc ... of ceramic industries such as tunnel furnaces, Hoffman, etc ... and of all fire apparatus for various industries where this technique is applied.
For the construction of fire apparatus, it
It is known to make the walls in several materials having different physical and chemical properties:
<EMI ID = 1.1>
corrosion, and, on the superstructure side, light and insulating materials.
These materials having different expansion coefficients, they have the disadvantage of not clinging to each other.
For reasons of space, as long as
for economic reasons, the thickness of the refractory material layers cannot be unnecessarily increased, which affects the stability of the structures. This is why, to reduce the thickness of the aforesaid walls, it has already been thought to connect the part subjected to the fire to the superstructure by metal anchors made up of one or more elements often articulated to allow the movements of the refractory lining to be followed. and possibly the superstructure. However, the use of metal parts is relatively limited, because even special alloys cannot withstand temperatures as high as those supported by the refractory materials which they maintain without damage. To fix
to the drawbacks inherent in metal anchors, it was thought to use hooking parts of special shapes made of ceramic refractory materials which are interlocked or sealed during assembly in the masonry exposed to the fire. These parts cross the different layers and are attached
to the metal anchor - located in an area where the temperature is low enough so that it can withstand, without damage and for a very long time, the stresses to which they are subjected. For the realization of the flat suspended vaults, one uses the same techniques as for the walls, one is satisfied to multiply the points of attachment.
In summary, the processes currently used
<EMI ID = 2.1>
- brick walls or walls: when the thicknesses are not sufficient, to ensure the stability of the structure, we are forced to resort to a device with various and complicated marks that fit perfectly with the hanging pieces in ceramic refractory taken at the back by metal hooks;
- flat arches in fired refractory: it is necessary to use numerous hooks and in general, all the refractory pieces are provided with several male and female battens mating between them and with larger pieces protruding from the face of the elements turned towards the superstructure and suspended from the beams by metal anchors;
- for monolithic constructions, rammed in adobe or cast in refractory concrete, the problem is not very different between walls and vaults:
shaped pieces of fired refractory materials are sealed in the mass subjected to the fire and used to hang it on the superstructure using suitable metal parts;
- for d s constructions of walls or flat vaults by assembling slabs or modules of relatively large volume rammed in rammed earth or poured in refractory concrete, we drown in the slabs, during molding, hanging parts in baked refractory or, as a variant, during the manufacture of the slabs, lights are used to embed, after setting, the attachment parts in baked refractory.
These various processes have various drawbacks, the main ones of which are the following: high cost of manufacturing the various elements entering into the composition of suspended coverings and high cost of assembling the latter.
The object of the invention is to remedy these drawbacks and to provide a refractory element for a suspended coating; making it possible to eliminate the assembly parts made of fired refractory product which were essential for producing the suspended coverings according to the known methods, with the consequence that, on the one hand, the cost of the quality coverings at least equal to that of the coverings existing, produced using the elements according to the invention is significantly less than that of existing coatings and, on the other hand, the assembly cost of the coatings consisting of elements according to the invention is significantly reduced compared to the cost assembly of traditional elements.
For this purpose, according to the invention, the element is
in a single piece and has on its face facing the superstructure or casing means allowing the attachment of at least one metal part connecting the element to said superstructure.
According to one embodiment of the invention, the aforesaid means allowing attachment to the superstructure project relative to the face of the element facing the superstructure.
According to an advantageous embodiment of the invention, the element consists of at least two superimposed layers of material of different refractarities and densities, the aforesaid means allowing the attachment being made of the same material as the layer opposite the superstructure and being molded at the same time as this layer.

moire and which represent, by way of non-limiting examples, various embodiments of the element according to the invention.
Figures 1 to 4 are perspective views of refractory elements according to the invention.
Figures 5 and 6 are elevational views, partially in section, showing embodiments of refractory elements different from those shown in Figures 1 to 4.
In the different figures, the same notations
references designate identical or similar elements.
The element 1 according to the invention, shown in the drawings is in one piece and has, on its face 2 intended
to be turned towards the superstructure supporting the coating, means 3 allowing the attachment of metal parts connecting the element to the superstructure. These means 3 protrude from the face 2 of the element and consist, as shown in <EMI ID = 4.1> of symmetry 5 of the element and, as shown in Figures 3 and 4, by regularly studs 6 distributed over said face 2. The ribs 4 and studs 6 have either openings 7 to allow passage of the metal connecting pieces, or opposing grooves 8 into which engage metal connecting pieces in the form of pincers.
The element according to the invention and shown in Figures 1 to 4 is monolithic and is produced either using a dense refractory concrete, hydraulically setting, chosen to have a mechanical strength at least constant between 300 [deg.] C and the operating temperature, either using a rammed earth, with chemical setting, offering a mechanical resistance similar to that of concrete elements. This element can be used for the assembly of the coating either after a stoving of 300 [deg.] C, or pre-ceramized at high temperature, that is to say at a temperature higher than
1000 [deg.] C.
This monolithic element is especially intended to be used for making arches where the mechanical strength of the means 3 is particularly important. One could also, according to the invention, provide elements, mainly for vaults, such as that shown in Figure 5; this element consisting of two layers of material 9 and 10 superimposed. Layer 9, opposite the superstructure - <EMI ID = 5.1>

According to the invention, it would also be possible to use, for cases where the stacking of elements already ensures the stability of the assembly, in particular for making vertical walls, elements such as that shown in FIG. 6. This element consists of three layers of refractory material 11, 12 and 13

so as to obtain a good bond between the different layers constituting the element.

800 x 858 mm. The height of the elements is 231 mm; between each of them and between the structure, a seal is provided. Two ribs of 100 x 100 x 858 mm, being provided on each element (figure 1).
