"Fixing device for interlocking plastic profiles".
The present invention relates to a fixing device for plastic profiles interlocking one into the other and is particularly applicable to the fixing of paneling elements or facade cladding elements.
Currently, the end of a plastic panel or board intended to be covered
by the corresponding end of the neighboring panel or the neighboring plank is nailed to the counterlaths or rafters, which prevents the expansion of the plastic material during temperature changes.
To obviate this drawback, it appeared advantageous according to the invention to create a fixing device characterized in that it consists of a small plate, in metal or in plastic material, having on one half of its surface one or more holes serving the passage of fixing nails on a support, and on the other half a hook intended to engage with one end of a coating element, the opening of the hook being disposed on the side opposite the holes.
In order to better understand the invention, it is now described in more detail on the basis of the appended aessin, by way of example only. We see in:
Figures 1 and 2 respectively a perspective view and a profile view of a fastener according to the invention, on an enlarged scale, and Figure 3 an example of use in profile view of a fastener following Figures 1 and 2 for fixing a plastic facade cladding.
As seen in Figures 1 and 2, a device
fixing made according to the invention consists of a thin plate 1, for example metallic, of square shape and of reduced dimensions, ie 20 mm x 20 mm.
In one half of the wafer surface 1
two holes 2 are provided, of a diameter suitable for the nails
fasteners usually used for holding plastic coverings on rafters.
In the material of the other half of the plate 1
A cutout 3 has been made to form by knocking out a hook 4, the opening of which is turned on the side opposite the holes 2.
Of course, this hook 4 can be formed on the plate 1 in any suitable manner and, for example, by
a simple folding of the plate but this configuration is less advantageous, as will emerge from the following description of an example of use of the fastener.
In Figure 3, there is shown a coating of
plastic facade formed by elements of
contiguous panel, the ends of which overlap. We see two panel elements or boards 10 and 10 'connected together by interlocking their contiguous ends and
mounted on counter-slats or rafters 11 by means of a fastener 1 according to the invention.
According to the invention, instead of nailing the end 12 of the board 10 on the rafter 11, a fastener 1 is slid over the rafter 1 so that
the hook 4 engages with said end and said fastener is fixed by nails 13 through the holes 2 on the rafter. The next board 10 'is then connected to the board 10, in the usual way, over the clip 1.
It is suitable that the plate 1 extends under
the board 10, as under the board 10 ', so that the boards are all plumb. That is why
it is particularly advantageous to make the attachment 1
with a conformation as shown in Figures 1 and 2, but of course, it would not go beyond the scope of the invention to give the plate any shape, provided that it comprises on the one hand the hole or holes and on the other hand the hook.
So that the fastener is easy to place, on the one hand, and to allow the expansion of the plastic coating during temperature changes, on the other hand, the space between the plate 1 and the hook 4 must be very slightly greater , or at least equal to the thickness of the Jewish end of the plastic coating.
