Abstract

The pump comprises a vertical cylinder with inlets in the bottom for a main fluid and an additive fluid, an outlet at the top for discharge of a dosed mixt. and a transfer port through a piston which moves up the cylinder when main fluid under pressure enters. The transfer port remains closed during the piston's upward stroke and is open during the pistons gravity return stroke to allow transfer of mixt. from beneath to above the piston. Additives is drawn in once in each cycle by a plunger fixed on the bottom of the piston moving out of an additive cylinder in the base of the main cylinder. The dosing is entirely automatic and the system is simple and inexpensive.
