<EMI ID=2.1>

<EMI ID=5.1>

the high cost of: sinking work is mainly due to the many downtimes due to the overlapping of the various operations, each requiring highly specialized labor.
Currently, use is made of pipes made of
<EMI ID = 3.1>
an exterior cementing b and an interior cementing as well as at the ends of heavy plates ^ which after driving: is <EMI ID = 4.1>
welding a. In such an embodiment, the driving work can only be continued after filling and hardening.
<EMI ID = 5.1>
The object of the present invention is to enable the work to be carried out continuously and to make better use of men and equipment and to obtain various advantages which will be listed below.
It essentially consists in that the pipes of a section are first darkened without forming the final joints and in that the joints are made after a section has been put in place.
According to the invention, the work is carried out according to a series of phases which differ essentially both in the particularities of their succession and in the nature of each of them.
The method, object of the invention, is applicable not only to the sinking of pipes intended to become sheaths but also to the production of a pressure pipe.
By way of non-limiting example, the following will describe, with reference to the drawings, the various phases in the case of earthworks and the creation of a water pipe or of another pressurized fluid through, for example. of a forest.
Figure 1 is a schematic view of the installation; Figure 2 is a sectional view of detail II of Figure 1 showing the ends of two siderocement pipes juxtaposed and to be connected according to the method <EMI ID = 6.1> Figure 3 is a perspective view showing the composition of a siderocement pipe <EMI ID = 7.1>

Figures 8 to 13 illustrate the different successive phases of the execution Figure 10 is a section through the line XX in figure 9 Figure 1 shows a steel tube 1 containing an installation comprising a Taupe machine 2, for example of the Westfalia type Lunen allowing a mechanization of earthworks at the top of the sinking head.
This figure also shows a first tube
3 in sidereal cement which was dark behind the earthmoving machine 2.
Figure 2 shows two pipes placed end to end without a joint and illustrates detail II of figure 1 where a second tube 4 has been shown following on from tube 3.
In this figure 2 and also in figure 3 we show at 5 the external cement with reinforcements 6, at 7
interior cement with 8 reinforcements and steel pipes
9 which are each provided at their end with reinforcing rings 11 formed by a heavy plate intended to be connected to an internal sleeve (not shown in FIG.
2) which will be discussed below and intended to achieve the seal between. successive pipes.
<EMI ID = 10.1>
The next phase (Figures 4 to 7) consists of placing an expanding centering ring 12 at the rear of the first
<EMI ID = 11.1>
the second siderocement tube 4 is then threaded onto the ring 12 after inserting a wooden ring 13 for the distribution of the thrust forces.
this ring 12 is generally formed of three elements whose expansion to reach the internal diameter of the heavy plates is achieved using threaded rods
14 provided with bolts 15 generally six in number passing through ears 16 provided at the ends of the elements of the ring.
By acting on the nuts of the centering ring, the two tubes 3 and 4 are centered.
The wood insert ring 13 is provided in two glued parts 13-13 <1> in order to be able to easily detach the inner part 131 for the subsequent injection of a protective product as will be explained below.

this sheet is intended to separate the upper part of the annular gap in two in order to be able to ensure subsequently that the protective product will indeed completely fill the annular space 18.

Welding of an inner sleeve 19 (figure

This sleeve 19 has three threaded holes (figure 10), two of which 20-21 (figure 11) located at the upper part are extended by nozzles 22-23 between which the sheet 17 is located and which are intended
to allow the annular space to be purged at the time of wise filling of the protective product.

After filling with the protective product, the nozzles 22-23 will be closed by threaded tigas 27. Perfect tightness will be obtained by welding a weld bead 28 around the threaded rods that we have taken care to let overflow. 4 to 5 mm.
Phase 15 (figure 13) Interior cementing.
After the previous operations, it suffices for the internal protection of the joint to proceed with the usual cementing 29 with the aggregates recommended by the supplier of the pipes. If necessary, a light frame
will be in place to prevent any detachment of the cement.
The invention also encompasses siderocement pipes modified for the practice of the method.
these pipes are distinguished in that the sheets

- flexibility of the sections during sinking allowing possible corrections;
- assurance of not having exterior or interior cementing cracked by bending forces due to driving
- check the tightness of the joint between pipes after jacking and not before.
