Abstract

Offset printing plate for lithographic printing consists of a steel support with a first Cu layer and a third hydrophilic metal layer, i.e. Al. The two layers are applied in a continuous process successively by vacuum deposition thereby obviating prior art electroplating. The Al layer is oxidised and pref. sealed using boiling water.
